1. What is Panchayti Raj?

Panchayti Raj is a village – level governance system in which all the people of village together form a committee in which member elected by them play a major role in development & progress of the village.  Panchayti Raj governance system works at state, village & local level.

2.  When did Panchayti Raj Act amended?

Constitution amended its 73 amendment on April 20, 1993which was added as section 9 of the constitution and was enacted in Gazette (Extraordinary part II Section I).

3. What are the main tasks of Panchayti Raj?

The main functions of Panchayti Raj are:

1. Arrangement of different governance system at village, district & block level.  

2. To conduct election after each 5 year.

3. Equal representation to each class of people.

4. To promote participation of women/ female member in each village.

4. Is panchayat is working towards eliminating our social ills

Yes, Panchayat helps to solve the problems of the villagers across ills Society such as child marriage, sati, female infanticide, female abuse, drink alcohol, etc.. In time, they can also take the help of the law & police.            

5. What is the status of women in the new Amended Panchayati Raj.

There been a 33 per cent reservation for women in the Constitution. A woman in New Panchayati Raj has been ranked as the member. Each decision taken by the Panchayat women have equal participation.  Women are free  to support or oppose any decision taken by the Panchayat.

6. Does Panchayat contributes in Environmental field also.

Yes, Panchayat plays an important role in Environmental field. Panchayat also helps in improving environment in their Society. If any environmental degradation came in knowledge of Panchayat Committee together try to solve the problem, if there is any Environmental hazard at local level that can be stopped.  Such as to use of  fertilizers as they cause land degradation by their acidic character. Trying to stop deforestation.

The main elements of climate Change are:

Land, Geographical condition, climatic factors & biological factor.   

Climate : air, Rain, sunlight, temperature & water.

Geographical condition:  sea level, direction of Mountains exposure of slope & sharpness.

Land condition: physical & Chemical Properties of soil

Biological factor: plants trees, animals & all living component.

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances   or  energy, such as noise, heat or light.  Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution can affect air, water land etc.
